The 1970’s were a tumultuous time. In some ways, the decade was a continuation of the 1960’s. Women, African Americans, Native Americans, gays and lesbians and other marginalized people continued their fight for equality, and many Americans joined the protest against the ongoing war in Vietnam.
The 1970’s are famous for bell-bottoms and the rise of disco, but it was also an era of economic struggle, cultural change and technological innovation.
The three colors of the background of her pictures represent ; black the marginalized people, and the fight for equality, the flower and the outside environment the protest against of the war in Vietnam, and the neon colors represent the cultural change, and the new style on clothing.
Meet my model Queryan, she is from Humacao, and one of the nurse of my grandmother. One of the things that make me select her as my model was her smile, and for sure her hair, perfect from the 1970s era, also her attitude that she project on the pictures represent that king of attitude that people used to have during that time.
